Chess training and youth circles in Prague 19

In Prague, learning chess usually means joining a club's youth section, the kroužek or circle, which follows the school year from September to June. TJ Kobylisy, ŠK Praha-Smíchov, Šachový klub Bohnice, Sokol Nebušice, SK OAZA Praha, TJ Dukla and ŠK Na Smetance all list training for children, usually in the late afternoon and grouped by age or strength.

There are also school-based options: ŠK Aurora, a chess club and school in Praha 6, and Šachy Štěpán, tied to the primary school on Štěpánská street in Praha 2. Hotel Don Giovanni hosts an international chess holiday in summer with tournament play. Outside the city, clubs in Kralupy nad Vltavou, Čelákovice and Říčany train children as well, and fees are listed where a page shows them.
