About this list
Many Prague clubs are not stand-alone associations but the chess section, the šachový oddíl, of a larger sports union: TJ Bohemians in Praha 10, TJ Kobylisy, TJ Dukla in Dejvice, Sokol Nebušice, Sokol Vyšehrad and Sokol Vršovice. Others carry the ŠK prefix of a chess club proper, such as ŠK Loko Praha, ŠK Viktoria Žižkov or SK OAZA Praha, whose clubroom in Krč also hosts youth series and the Prague individual championship.
Nearly all of them field teams in the Prague team competition, from the Přebor, the city's first class, down through the lower ones, and several also play in the national leagues. Club rooms sit in Sokol halls, children's houses such as DDM Spirála in Bohnice, a technical university faculty, a hotel chess café on Wenceslas Square and an address on Karlínské náměstí shared by two clubs and their tournaments. Clubs in Kralupy nad Vltavou, Čelákovice and Říčany close the list.
